How does pricing work?
The VALT software is licensed per device that streams and records video to VALT. For example, one camera requires one VALT license.
Your quote will include the following one-time costs: VALT server, VALT software licenses, audio equipment, video equipment, and professional services.
Your quote will include one annual cost, which is the Software Support Agreement. By paying annually for the Software Support Agreement you receive the following:
- 5-year hardware warranty on all hardware sold
- 90-day warranty on all labor including wiring
- Security updates
- Software upgrades
- Technical support and maintenance
- Ongoing remote training
- A dedicated regional representative
What is a perpetual license?
A perpetual license means you purchase the license once, improving your system’s total cost of ownership. For example, when a camera reaches its end of life in 5–7 years, your perpetual license will simply transfer to a new camera.
What is included in a VALT license?
A VALT license provides access to all VALT features and functions. VALT is a web-based application, and no additional software or plugins are required to stream video or playback video files.
What is the annual cost to use your software?
The only annual cost for a VALT system is the Software Support Agreement, which is currently $450.00 per VALT license.
By paying annually for the Software Support Agreement, you receive the following:
- 5-year hardware warranty on all hardware sold
- 90-day warranty on all labor, including wiring
- Security updates
- Software upgrades
- Technical support and maintenance
- Ongoing remote training
- A dedicated regional representative
How do you provide support?
The IVS support team is based entirely in Sussex, WI and is comprised of experienced application support engineers.
Any one of our technicians can help address any issue, so our customers get a fast resolution without having to navigate tiers of support or go through an escalation process.
Our engineers are available Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST via phone, email, and web meeting.
What is the cost for software upgrades?
There is no cost for software upgrades when you have an active Software Support Agreement with IVS.
We have never had to sunset a product, and we continue to re-architect VALT to use the latest technology and upgrade our customers to the latest version without asking them to buy new software or buy new hardware to accommodate new software.
We have customers who started using VALT in 2014 and have been able to continuously upgrade to the latest version of VALT!
Can you provide the video equipment?
Yes! IVS will source and install your video equipment.
VALT works with Axis Communications network cameras that support line level audio input. We source a variety of models to meet any workflow or room configuration. Our in-house installation technicians are Axis Communications Certified Professionals.
Can you provide the audio equipment?
Yes! IVS will source and install your audio equipment.
All Axis cameras that are compatible with VALT support external audio. IVS makes use of high-quality microphones that are powered using POE from the camera.
The VALT system can also make use of Digital Signal Processors to create the most reliable, high quality audio solution for simple and complex audio needs.
Our in-house installation technicians and support engineers have been programming and commissioning DSP systems with our DSP partner, Biamp, for more than 6 years. We actively certify new staff as part of our training processes and provide continuing certification as new technologies become available to our existing staff.
Architecturally, we are leveraging the AXIS cameras to mix their high-quality video with the audio from our DSPs directly at the device. Because this integration is so efficient, we can avoid the need to reprocess audio at the server, as some of our competitors do, entirely. This helps us shrink the hardware footprint dramatically and is a big part of why we can support up to 50 cameras per server.
What happens if I want to add additional users?
You can add users to VALT at any time for no additional cost. There is no limit to the number of users or user groups you can provide access to in VALT.
What if I need to grow my system?
No problem! Our servers can be stacked to support any quantity of cameras and video streams while still being managed as one VALT system. Our servers can also be distributed across multiple locations on your network while still being managed as one system. Scaling your system is as easy as adding audio/video equipment and VALT licenses to the new rooms you want to observe and record.
What is your warranty policy?
Please see the Hardware Warranty Statement.
If I stop using VALT, what happens to my data?
Regardless of your deployment method, your data belongs to you. 90% of IVS customers deploy VALT locally, on-prem, which means your VALT system, and your data reside on your network and IVS does not host, store, process or transmit your data.
