Markers

Tag specific points within a recording either during live observation or during the review process. These points can have searchable descriptions associated with them and are great for debriefing. These “markers” allow users to easily jump right to that point in the video, similar to chapters in a DVD.

Scheduler

Our built in scheduler feature allows users to schedule recordings in advance. The schedule can be set to automatically recur on a daily, weekly or monthly basis allowing for complete automation of the recording process. The scheduler also integrates with PTZ cameras to automatically reposition the camera to the area of interest at the beginning of the scheduled recording(s).

Video Solutions for Law School Clinics

Law clinics are law school training programs that provide hands-on experience for law students and various clients. Law clinics offer an engaging and active teaching strategy that leads to student discovery, enhancement of academic argument skills, and application of already-learned content. Using video to record courtroom simulation training enhances the process — allowing students and instructors the ability to closely monitor and review courtroom training sessions with state-of-the-art digital video.

The VALT (video audio learning tool) solution for law clinic simulation recording dispenses with both bulky, analog systems and expensive digital platforms. VALT is an inexpensive, centralized recording solution that can handle dozens of cameras simultaneously and offers easy to learn and use hardware and software.

Using VALT Video to Record Law Clinics

Court RoomViewing and recording trial-based simulations with VALT is easy. Both fixed and movable cameras can be mounted in the courtroom, all of which feed to a central server. Authorized viewers can access recorded courtroom sessions with nothing more than a simple internet browser, such as Firefox, Chrome, or Safari.

Our top of the line IP cameras are paired with auto-gaining microphones that eliminate hum and other background noises, producing a top-quality audio-video experience for students and instructors.

A typical VALT installation features storage capacity for nearly 16,000 hours of high-def video. Individual courtroom training sessions can be tagged with notes and other data, making it easy to locate any recorded session. The VALT system is easily scalable — installations range from small, single room systems to campus-wide deployments.

Law Clinic Recording Software by VALT

VALT software for recording law school clinical sessions is powerful, yet extremely easy to use. Operators can start and stop any recording session remotely, or from buttons placed inside the courtroom itself. Our “talkback” feature allows instructors to communicate with students inside the simulation, enabling real-time instructor feedback.

VALT video employs h.264 compression and is recorded in standard MP4 format, minimizing demands on the network. Additionally, video is immediately available on the network, with no delays due to video processing or rendering. Administrators can alter settings to determine how long video sessions are available on the network.

Our Beam mobile capture solution is an iOS application that integrates with iPads and iPhones, letting campuses easily set up off-site courtroom training sessions with nothing more than a tablet or smartphone. Such off-site law clinic digital video is automatically synced with the main VALT server when the operator returns.

Security of VALT Video Recording for Law Clinics

All recorded VALT video uses state-of-the-art encryption, user authentication, and user rights management, thereby making sure that only users with proper access may view and record law clinics and courtroom simulations.

Departments can opt for a turnkey solution from IVS, which can be implemented by internal IT departments, technology groups, or by a third-party AV/IT integrator. IVS works closely with each customer to ensure a fully successful Valt video installation. Contact us to request a quote or to schedule a demonstration of the VALT system.
