Camera Types and Controls
VALT uses high-quality IP-based cameras that capture video in 1080p resolution. There are multiple options for users to select the type of camera or device to capture from. Depending on the application and type of environment, the session will be in.
PTZ Cameras: Pan-tilt-zoom cameras can be moved and operated from within the software. They can be adjust the view within the space and particular detail needed. Simply clicking the camera in observation view user can click the screen to point camera where they need to see more detail.
Fixed cameras: Fixed cameras provide the same resolution and can also allow the ability to digitally zoom in on a detail on screen.
Covert Cameras: These cameras are perfect for video capture where evidence or research fidelity are of high importance and the participant or subject would act as if they were not being recorded. Including child therapy rooms, law enforcement interviews, child behavior and autism studies, and even product and consumer research.
Camera Carts: View our ROAM solutions to see a selection of camera carts that let VALT users move cameras on a cart through out a space.
Presets
Camera presets create custom views of a specific camera position that highlight a recurring and/or special view that can quickly be accessed. Users can save a view and name it and then return to that view instantly in the preset dropdown.
Room and View Controls
With drag and drop matrix layouts of up to 9 cameras and/or 3rd party data (such as vital monitors or screens) users can create the custom room or view they can instantly return to to observe or record. This can be any number of cameras in one room or multiple. The creator can name them and see all the cameras that are associated with that room/view, which can be clicked to see just from that camera. These rooms have granular permission structures, so admins can give access to view and record from these custom views. Examples include creating a nursing simulation room with cameras from different angles around the patient, the IV insertion closeup, washing station, and other vital monitor devices or seeing multiple OSCE rooms from one observation browser on any device, observing multiple counseling graduate students from each clinical space, or streaming different focus group sessions from multiple locations.
