00:00:01:18 - 00:00:30:19 Unknown Welcome to the On Record podcast. This is a brand new podcast where we talk with professionals and subject matter experts from diverse markets that are using and producing video and audio in innovative ways to support their organization's objectives. My name is Mike Anzalone and my co-host is Andy Simmons. As we get started with this brand new podcast, which I'm really excited about, why don't you tell us a little bit about your background? 00:00:30:20 - 00:00:45:18 Unknown Thanks, Mike. Yeah, the first half of my career, I worked as a high school teacher, and then I left that space. But I was so kind of interested in educating people. So the second half of my career, up to this point, I've worked in sales enablement, just helping customers and sales reps get the most out of the software that they actually use. 00:00:45:18 - 00:01:35:06 Unknown So, customers that IVS probably recognize me from webinars and online videos that I put out and some of the other content. How about you, Mike? How'd you get here? Yeah. So my journey in video started, oh, about 15 years ago. And I've had the opportunity to work with a variety of different types of customers. My primary experience has been working with higher education clients, particularly those in health care simulation nursing schools, medical schools, physician assistant programs, things of that sort, along with other types of clinical applications like speech and language clinics and psychology clinics and behavioral clinics and things of that sort. 00:01:35:08 - 00:02:07:02 Unknown And over the course of my career, working with AV and clients, I've come to understand a lot of the challenges that they face. I've seen a lot of changes in technology as customers and clients are thinking about innovative ways to use video to to once again support their organization's objectives. And really, those objectives primarily focus in and around achieving those desired educational outcomes. 00:02:07:04 - 00:02:38:15 Unknown So I'm really excited about the types of, guests that we're going to have on the podcast. We've got guests that come from a variety of higher education universities that will be able to share their experience again in, different types of applications. We'll be speaking with, design consultants, for example, and again, how they go about recommending, a design system for their clients. 00:02:38:17 - 00:03:07:08 Unknown We'll be speaking with technology providers in terms of also understanding new technology, how that technology is implemented, and also how they will be able to make recommendations to their clients as well as we as we get into the podcast Andy, the what are the types of things that you would like to have our listeners really, get out of our podcast? 00:03:07:10 - 00:03:22:01 Unknown You know, selfishly, I always want to learn more about, you know, our industry that we work in, in the markets we serve and for the people that we interview. You know, I think it's I always think it's worth kind of nerding out on some of the cool things that people have done. Right. Give them the platform an opportunity to, you know, actually share their stories. 00:03:22:01 - 00:03:43:08 Unknown But mostly, though, I just think it's important to take lessons learned from like, the people who have paved the way in certain industries. Right? A lot of a lot of people are trying to do some really cool things, really groundbreaking things with with AV systems. And we shouldn't always try to recreate the wheel. So I'm very interested in hearing how the lessons learned along the way so that other people can kind of, like, stand on their shoulders and keep pushing this industry forward. 00:03:43:10 - 00:04:21:00 Unknown How about you? What are you looking forward to getting out of this? You know, I think one of the the really exciting aspects of On Record is because we're going to have guests from a variety of different disciplines and organizations that are really trying to accomplish the same thing. And that is, once again, being able to use video as a learning tool, an instructional tool, a supervision tool, really to help their learners become the best at whatever discipline that they are looking. 00:04:21:02 - 00:05:03:07 Unknown To become, proficient in. And again, that's going to range from we'll be speaking with nursing simulation. Folks will be speaking with law enforcement individuals. We will be speaking with many of the companies that once again provide the technology for these clients to really help provide some recommendations and guidance. And I think hopefully, one of the things that our listeners will really learn about is, again, overcoming the challenges, understanding that, yes, video can be extremely valuable, but how do you go about setting up a video system? 00:05:03:07 - 00:05:31:01 Unknown How do you go about training users for example, how do you go about in engaging students? Because ultimately, if it's if video is being used for educational outcomes, we're really focusing in on student success. And so really kind of keeping the spotlight on the outcomes, that video can provide to me are going to be really exciting for our, our listening audience. 00:05:31:02 - 00:05:49:09 Unknown Yeah, I really agree. I thought a lot about the outcomes. Part is, how do you know that what you've done is actually successful? How do you measure success is a question I'm looking forward to asking our guests. And, you know, I think what's what's really cool is, you know, a lot of our clients feel as if they're kind of on their own, right? 00:05:49:09 - 00:06:20:17 Unknown They are university. They are, you know, investing in a video system and are just kind of wondering, well, who else has really kind of done this? And so what we want to do is bring, to those folks, you know, once again, an audience, that has experience in this field to help them really, overcome some of the obstacles, that they may think are, are really challenging. 00:06:20:19 - 00:06:45:06 Unknown So I'm pretty excited about that. Yeah. It's true. Especially, like, if someone's done something really worthwhile, they're they're probably going to want to share it. So while, well, sometimes we, kind of are protective over our work, I could see a lot of our customers that have done some cool things using AV systems, wanting to share their stories, and wanted to share it with other people who are maybe trying to do similar, similar things. 00:06:45:07 - 00:07:22:08 Unknown Yeah. And, you know, I think the value that you and I can offer our listening audience is we come we come to video from a couple different perspectives. From my own perspective, I'm more involved with the technology. I've helped organizations design and implement the systems. And I know you come to video again, more from the educational perspective. And so I think together we'll be able to have some really interesting conversations with our guests that I think our, our audience will really enjoy. 00:07:22:09 - 00:07:24:03 Unknown Absolutely. I'm really looking forward to it. 00:07:25:21 - 00:07:38:00 Unknown On Record is a podcast presented by Intelligent Video Solutions, hosted by Mike Anzalone and Andy Simmons and produced by Kyle Shelstad.
